Karen has enjoyed a successful career as a technology sales professional - an industry generally known for its lack of diversity.  Since joining Google in 2014, she has had numerous unique opportunities to experience first-hand the importance of diversity and inclusion - both for children, and for adults in the workplace.  Karen has developed a special passion for the impact of diversity in children’s education as a means to break the cycle of poverty, and fully subscribes to PicDiversity’s philosophy that children cannot become what they cannot see or imagine for themselves.

A dedicated volunteer for decades, Karen has been a strong advocate for the underserved population.  She has proudly served as a Big Sister, an independent mentor for youth, and ‘extra hands’ for local non-profits in Chicago and Austin. She served on the fiduciary board of Gateway Community Church for several years, where she led numerous initiatives primarily focused on education, food and shelter for homeless individuals and families.  Karen is a certified facilitator for the global #IamRemarkable movement, which seeks to empower everyone to recognize and celebrate their achievements.

A believer in the power of community, Karen is committed to making a difference in the world.
